While visiting Carmel, it is obvious that at some point in time, food is going to be needed. One of my favorite places in Carmel for breakfast or a late lunch is Katy's Place, located on Mission Street, between 5th and 6th street. Katy's place is "Home of the World's Best Eggs Benedict." At first, I did not believe this, but trust me...it's true! There are over fifteen different varieties of eggs benedict to choose from. Make sure to try and get there as early as you can because the wait time becomes quite long. Although no reservations are accepted, it is better to go during the week because the weekends are super busy. Katy's place stays open from seven am until two pm. This restaurant is located very close to the water so it attracts many tourists who want to relax and grab a bite to eat. One of my favorite items on the menu is their very special Cheese blintze with fresh berries. The berries are very fresh and make a great combination with the cheese and raspberry sauce. Another one of my favorites on the menu is their dungeness crab benedict nestled on a bed of spinach with fresh fruit. I would highly recommend eating at Katy's place. Not only is the food good but the portions are large and it is very family oriented.
